Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1 c butter or margarine
  • 2 c brown sugar
  • 12 c corn syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla optional
  • 6 qt popped corn
  • 1 to 1 12 c nuts optional

Directions

  1. Boil butter brown sugar corn syrup and salt for 5 minutes Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla this should foam
  2. Pour over the popped corn
  3. Bake in a large butteredgreased shallow baking pans at 250 for 1 hour
  4. Stir every 15 minutes and stir occasionally as it cools
