Caramel Nut Crunch

Ingredients

  • 12 c packed brown sugar
  • 12 c dark corn syrup
  • 14 c margarine or butter
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 6 c Cheerios
  • 1 c pecan walnut or peanut halves
  • 12 c slivered almonds

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 325
  2. Butter jelly roll pan 15 x 10 12 x 1-inch Heat brown sugar corn syrup margarine and salt in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved about 5 minutes Remove from heat
  3. Stir in cereal and nuts until well coated Spread in pan and bake 15 minutes Cool until slightly firm 5 to 7 minutes
  4. Loosen with metal spatula
  5. Let stand until firm about 1 hour
  6. Makes 8 cups
