Ingredients

  • 1 c butter
  • 1 1 lb pkg brown sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c light corn syrup
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Melt butter in heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium heat
  2. Add brown sugar salt and corn syrup mix well
  3. Add condensed milk gradually stirring constantly
  4. Cook until mixture reaches 245 on candy thermometer firm ball stage
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla
  6. Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan
  7. Let stand until cool
  8. Cut into squares
  9. Yield 36 servings
