Carbonnades A La Flamande
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon 1-inch long
- 3 large sliced onions
- 3 lb stew meat chunked
- salad oil
- 1 bouillon cube
- 34 Tbsp salt
- 14 Tbsp thyme
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 12 oz beer
- 12 c water
- 1 small bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 18 Tbsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
Directions
- Cook bacon until brown
- Put bacon in 3-quart casserole dish In bacon grease cook onions until tender and lightly brown Place with bacon in dish
- In grease cook beef chunks until browned on all sides
- Add salad oil if necessary
- Put in dish
