Cavatelli
Ingredients
- 1 12 c wagon wheel or corkscrew macaroni
- 12 oz Italian sausage links sliced to 12-inch thick
- 34 c chopped onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 14 oz jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 c Mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning crushed
- 14 tsp pepper
Directions
- Prepare pasta according to package drain and set aside
- In large skillet cook sausage until no pink remains remove from skillet
- Drain off fat reserving 1 tablespoon
- Cook green onion and garlic in reserved drippings until tender
- In 2-quart casserole combine cooked pasta sausage onion mixture tomato sauce spaghetti sauce half of cheese Italian seasoning and pepper
- Toss gently to combine
- Bake in a 375 oven for 25 minutes
- Uncover sprinkle with remaining cheese
- Bake 5 to 10 minutes more or until heated through
