Cavatina
Ingredients
- 6 c Italian cooking sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 1 can sliced mushrooms
- 1 pkg sliced pepperoni
- 1 pkg grated Mozzarella cheese
- 14 c grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz mixed pastas at least 4 different types such as small shells small corkscrews small elbow macaroni thin egg noodles etc
Directions
- Mix the different pasta together and cook in boiling water until tender
- While pasta is cooking brown ground beef in skillet
- Remove beef from skillet and use drippings to saute bell pepper and onion slices until tender
- Add mushroom slices and heat thoroughly
- Drain off excess drippings from vegetables
- In large casserole dish layer the following
- Pasta mixture vegetables beef pepperoni cheese and sauce
- Repeat layers ending with cheese on top
- Bake at 350 until thoroughly heated and cheese is melted
- Serve with French bread and a green salad
- Serves 8
