Cheese Date Pastries
Ingredients
- 1 large pkg pitted dates chopped
- 1 c brown sugar
- 12 c water
- 1 c margarine
- 8 oz grated cheese
- 2 c flour
- fine chopped pecans optional
Directions
- Cook dates sugar and water over low heat stirring constantly until soft
- Cream margarine and cheese together blend in flour Chill at least 1 hour work with a small amount of dough at a time
- Roll 12-inch thick on lightly floured board cut into rounds
- On half rounds place 1 heaping teaspoon date filling Cover each with another round of pastry
- Press edges together with fork
- Bake in 350 oven for 15 minutes
