Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 8 slices 1-inch thick bread cubed
  • 12 lb grated American cheese
  • 5 eggs beaten
  • 2 c milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 c butter melted

Directions

  1. Divide bread into thirds
  2. Butter baking dish
  3. Layer 13 bread 12 cheese repeat with bread on top
  4. Add eggs to milk and salt
  5. Pour over bread and cheese mixture
  6. Let stand in refrigerator overnight
  7. Before baking pour melted butter over top
  8. Set casserole in pan of hot water
  9. Bake at 325 uncovered
  10. When brown and crusty put on cover and continue to bake for 45 minutes
