Cheese Wafers
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp butter or margarine softened 12 stick
- 1 c extra sharp Cheddar cheese grated about 4 oz
- 12 c unsifted all-purpose flour
- pinch of cayenne pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- In a mixing bowl combine the butter and cheese with a fork then blend in the flour and cayenne pepper
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls
- Place on a buttered baking pan and flatten until about 14-inch thick
- Bake uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp Serve warm or at room temperature
- Makes 12 wafers
