Cherry-Blossom Bread

Ingredients

  • 8 oz maraschino cherries
  • 12 c butter softened
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 2 c sifted flour
  • 12 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 12 c chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Drain and chop cherries reserving juices Add enough water to reserved juice to measure 1 cup Combine butter sugar and egg in bowl
  2. Beat well Add dry ingredients alternately with cherry liquid mixing well after each addition Stir in nuts and cherries
  3. Spoon into greased loaf pan Bake at 350 until loaf tests done
