Cherry-Chocolate Cups
Ingredients
- 1 c sugar
- 34 c butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 34 c flour
- 1 14 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp salt
- 14 c walnuts chopped
- 1 1 oz sq unsweetened chocolate melted
- 32 maraschino cherries drained and halved
Directions
- Cream together sugar and butter
- Beat in egg and vanilla Stir together flour baking powder and salt
- Stir into creamed mixture mix well
- Divide dough in half
- To one half add nuts and chocolate
- Press a rounded teaspoonful of chocolate mixture into the bottom and up sides of ungreased 1 34-inch muffin cups
- Place a cherry half in the center of each cup
- Top with a rounded teaspoonful of the remaining white dough and another cherry half Bake at 375 for 15 to 20 minutes
