Cherry Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c sugar
  • 14 c butter or 12 stick margarine
  • 12 stick margarine
  • 1 12 c sifted flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 lb dates cut up
  • 1 lb pecans
  • 12 lb candied pineapple cut up
  • 1 12 lb candied cherries red and green
  • 4 whole eggs

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Mix flour salt and baking powder Add to creamed butter and sugar mix well
  3. To this add the eggs one at a time slightly beaten
  4. To this add candied pineapple first dates cherries and pecans
  5. Bake in moderate oven at 250 for 2 or 2 12 hours
  6. Let cool in pan overnight
  7. Cook in square pan lined with wax paper
  8. Spray with Pam
  9. Cook this several days before using
