Cherry Crumb Cake

Ingredients

  • 34 c sugar
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 12 c butter andor margarine
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 1 lb 6 oz can cherry pie filling or other prepared fruits

Directions

  1. Sift flour baking powder and salt
  2. Mix with sugar
  3. Cut in butter add beaten egg and mix to make crumbs
  4. Place 12 of crumbs in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan
  5. Distribute cherries evenly and top with remaining crumbs
  6. Bake in moderate oven 350 for 30 minutes
  7. Serve with ice cream or other topping Sprinkle crumbs lightly with cinnamon
