Cherry Winks

Ingredients

• 2 14 c sifted flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 12 tsp baking soda
• 12 tsp salt
• 34 c soft shortening
• 1 12 c sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 Tbsp milk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 c chopped pecans
• 1 c chopped dates
• 12 c chopped maraschino cherries
• crushed corn flakes

Directions

1. Measure and sift dry ingredients
2. Beat until light and fluffy the sugar shortening eggs milk and vanilla
3. Blend in the dry ingredients
4. Add nuts dates and cherries
5. Blend well and chill Shape into small balls
6. Roll in crushed corn flakes
7. Place on greased baking sheet
8. Press 14 maraschino cherry in each
9. Bake in moderate oven 375 for 10 minutes
