Chewy Pecan Squares

Ingredients

• 1 egg
• 1 c packed brown sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 12 c sifted flour
• 14 tsp baking soda
• 14 tsp salt
• 1 c coarsely chopped pecans

Directions

1. Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan
2. Stir together egg brown sugar and vanilla Quickly stir in flour soda and salt Add nuts
3. Spread in pan and bake at 350 for 18 to 20 minutes Should be soft in center when removed from oven
4. Do not overbake Leave in pan and cut into 2-inch squares
5. Makes 16 squares
