Chicken A La KingLow-Fat
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp margarine
- 14 c chopped onion
- 2 c skim milk
- 12 tsp salt
- 14 tsp paprika
- 3 4 oz skinned and boned chicken breast halves cut in bite size pieces
- 1 2 oz jar diced pimento drained
- 4 slices wheat bread trimmed and toasted
- 12 c sliced mushrooms
- 14 c all-purpose flour
- 14 c frozen English peas thawed
- 12 tsp pepper
Directions
- Melt margarine in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat Add chicken and onion cook stirring constantly 3 to 5 minutes or until chicken is browned
- Add mushrooms cook 1 minute
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly
- Gradually add milk and next 4 ingredients
- Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is thickened and bubbly
- Cut each slice of toasted bread into 4 triangles
- Serve chicken mixture with 4 toast triangles sprinkle with paprika
