Chicken Baked In Sour Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 2 12 lb frying chicken cut in pieces
  • flour for dredging
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 14 c butter
  • 12 c sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 c water
  • 14 tsp thyme

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Dredge chicken in flour
  3. In a large skillet heat butter and brown chicken
  4. Transfer to a casserole Add mushrooms and sour cream diluted with water
  5. Sprinkle with thyme and cover tightly
  6. Bake until chicken is tender about 1 hour
  7. Serve with fluffy rice
