Chicken Meatballs Japanese Style
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 1 12 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 12 Tbsp dry sherry optional
- 2 12 Tbsp sugar
- 14 c soy sauce
- 3 c chicken broth
Directions
- Mix chicken 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon soy sauce and egg in mixing bowl
- Sprinkle on cornstarch and stir in well
- In a saucepan combine the broth remaining soy sauce sugar and sherry
- Bring to a boil
- Form meatballs with hands or drop from spoon into boiling broth
- Poach 5 to 6 minutes
- Remove with slotted spoon
- You may then poach green beans or other vegetables in broth
- Thicken broth with a cornstarch and water paste if desired
- Serve over rice
