Chiffon Cake
Ingredients
- 2 c sifted flour
- 1 12 c sugar
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 c oil
- 1 tsp lemon extract
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 34 c cold water
- 7 egg whites
- 12 tsp cream of tartar
- ungreased tube pan
Directions
- Mix flour sugar baking powder and salt
- Make a well in middle
- Add oil egg yolks water orange and lemon extract beat In another bowl beat egg whites with cream of tartar until whites form stiff peaks
- Pour egg yolk mixture over beaten whites folding until blended
- Do not stir
- Pour into pan bake 55 minutes until light brown
