Ingredients
- 2 to 3 tsp chili powder
- 12 c onion chopped
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 lb ground beef
- 23 c ketchup
- 12 c water
- 14 c celery chopped
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 12 to 1 c tomato juice
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 12 tsp Worcestershire
- 1 12 tsp salt
- 1 c canned tomatoes crushed
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 14 tsp dry mustard
- 1 16 oz can kidney beans with liquid
Directions
- Saute onion in butter
- Add beef and brown lightly drain off fat
- Add the rest of ingredients except kidney beans tomato juice and chili powder
- Simmer 30 minutes
- Cool slightly
- Add remaining 3 ingredients and simmer 1 hour
- Serves 10 to 12
