Chocolate Nut Crunch
Ingredients
- 2 c vanilla wafer crumbs
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 3 well-beaten egg yolks
- 12 tsp vanilla
- 1 c chopped walnuts
- 1 c confectioners sugar
- 1 12 oz sq unsweetened chocolate melted
- 3 stiff egg whites
Directions
- Combine crumbs and nuts
- Line bottom of 9-inch square pan with half of the crumb mixture
- Thoroughly cream butter and sugar add egg yolks
- Add chocolate and vanilla
- Mix well
- Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
- Spread over the crumb mixture
- Top with remaining crumb mixture patting down
- Chill in refrigerator overnight
- Cut in squares
- Serves 9
