Chocolate Nut Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

  • 10 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 14 c firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 23 c light corn syrup
  • 14 c heavy cream
  • 1 c broken walnuts
  • 1 34 c sifted cake flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1 12 c granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 3 sq unsweetened chocolate melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c milk

Directions

  1. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in small saucepan stir in brown sugar
  2. Heat until bubbly
  3. Stir in corn syrup and cream
  4. Heat stirring constantly just to boiling
  5. Add nuts
  6. Pour into generously buttered 10-inch 12-cup Bundt pan
  7. Put aside
