Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c oatmeal
• 1 12 c boiling water
• 1 c flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 12 tsp salt
• 12 tsp cocoa
• 12 c shortening
• 1 12 c sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Mix oats and water
2. Sift dry ingredients set aside
3. Cream shortening add sugar and one egg at a time
4. Beat well
5. Add vanilla then add alternately the dry ingredients and oat mixture Pour into a greased 8 x 11 x 2-inch pan
6. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes
