Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake
Ingredients
- 23 c butter or margarine softened
- 3 eggs
- 2 14 c flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp salt
- well rinsed chopped sauerkraut
- 1 12 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 12 c unsweetened cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 c water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Grease and lightly flour two 8-inch layer pans
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Add vanilla
- Sift flour cocoa baking powder baking soda and salt
- Add to creamed mixture alternating with water
- Stir in sauerkraut
- Bake in preheated pans at 350 for about 30 minutes or until cake tests done
- Frost with your favorite icing
