Chocolate Sour Cream Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c butter or margarine softened
  • 3 c sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c all-purpose flour
  • 12 c cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 c boiling water
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream butter gradually adding sugar
  2. Beat eggs in creamed mixture one at a time
  3. Combine flour cocoa soda and salt
  4. Add alternately the dry ingredients and sour cream to creamed mixture mixing well after each addition
  5. Add boiling water and vanilla Mix well
  6. Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325 for 1 hour and 20 minutes
  7. Check after 70 minutes with toothpick ovens may vary
  8. Do not overbake
  9. Cool for 15 minutes
