Chocolate Square Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

• 34 c sifted all-purpose flour
• 14 tsp salt
• 12 c granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 12 c Quaker oats
• milk chocolate bars
• 12 tsp soda
• 12 c brown sugar
• 12 c soft shortening
• 12 tsp vanilla
• 14 c chopped nuts

Directions

1. Sift together flour soda and salt
2. Add sugars shortening egg and vanilla
3. Beat until smooth about 2 minutes
4. Stir in oats and nuts
5. Shape dough into a roll wrap and chill thoroughly
6. Slice and put on ungreased cookie sheets
7. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes
8. Remove from oven and immediately place small square of milk chocolate bar on each
9. Remove from sheets and press pecan or walnut half into chocolate square
