Chop Suey

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork tenderloin cut in thin strips
  • 12 c sliced onion
  • 1 c celery sliced thin
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 16 oz can bean sprouts
  • 1 5 oz can water chestnuts sliced
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 14 c water
  • 2 Tbsp oil

Directions

  1. Cook pork in hot oil until brown
  2. Add onion celery and green pepper
  3. Cook 4 to 5 minutes
  4. Combine cornstarch with a little water then stir in remaining water and bouillon cube
  5. Add to vegetable mixture
  6. Cook until just thick
  7. Add bean sprouts water chestnuts and soy sauce
  8. Heat
  9. Serve with rice
  10. Garnish with toasted almonds if desired
