ChowderWinning Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 c chopped clams
- 4 slices bacon
- 2 medium onions chopped small
- 3 Tbsp chopped green pepper
- 3 ribs celery diced fine
- 2 carrots diced fine
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 5 medium potatoes peeled and minced
- 2 c clam juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 6 drops Tabasco
- 12 tsp pepper
- 2 c half and half cream
- 1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp thyme
Directions
- Saute bacon until crisp drain saving fat
- Crumble bacon and set aside
- Slowly saute onions green pepper celery carrots and garlic in bacon fat until tender
- Boil potatoes in salted water until cooked
- Combine vegetables add seasonings and beat in a mixer until creamy
- Do not beat longer or it will become too smooth and thick
