Christmas Braid Bread
Ingredients
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 14 c warm water
- 1 c milk
- 12 c sugar
- 12 tsp salt
- 13 c margarine
- 4 c flour
- 1 egg beaten
Directions
- Soften 1 package of dry yeast in warm water
- Scald 1 cup milk pour over sugar salt and margarine
- Cook to lukewarm
- Add softened yeast and beat in flour
- Turn dough onto floured board and let rise until double in bulk
- Punch down and divide in 6 equal parts cover and let stand 10 minutes
- Roll each portion into lengthwise strips
- Use 3 strips for each loaf braid together
