Christmas Chowder
Ingredients
- 12 c shredded carrots
- 12 c chopped celery
- 1 13 oz can chicken broth
- 14 c chopped onion
- 14 c chopped green pepper
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 2 c milk
- 4 oz Gruyere cheese
- 4 oz American cheese
Directions
- Combine carrots and celery in broth cover and simmer until tender
- Cook onion green pepper and butter until tender
- Blend in flour add milk to this
- Cook stirring constantly until it comes to a boil and is thick
- Cook 2 minutes add to broth mixture
- Reduce heat and stir in cheese
- Season to taste Makes 6 small bowls
