Christmas Hard Candy

Ingredients

• 3 12 c sugar
• 1 c light corn syrup
• 1 c water
• 14 to 12 tsp peppermint oil
• 1 tsp red or green food coloring

Directions

1. In a large heavy saucepan combine sugar corn syrup and water Cook on medium heat until candy thermometer reads 300 hard-crack stage stirring occasionally
2. Remove from heat
3. Stir in oil and food coloring
4. Pour onto a greased cookie sheet
5. Cool
6. Break into pieces
