Classic Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 34 c Hersheys cocoa
  • 23 c boiling water
  • 34 c butter or margarine softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c unsifted cake flour
  • 1 14 tsp baking soda
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 34 c buttermilk or sour milk

Directions

  1. Stir together cocoa and boiling water in small bowl until smooth set aside
  2. Cream butter sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl
  3. Blend in eggs
  4. Combine flour soda and salt
  5. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture
  6. Blend in reserved cocoa mixture
