Cocoa-Lace Cookies

Ingredients

  • 14 c margarine
  • 13 c firmly packed brown sugar
  • 14 c light corn syrup
  • 13 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 12 c finely chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Spray baking sheets with no-stick cooking spray set aside
  2. In medium saucepan melt margarine stir in brown sugar and corn syrup Bring to a boil stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved Remove from heat stir in remaining ingredients until blended Drop mixture by teaspoons 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets Bake 9 minutes at 350 or until cookies spread thin and are deep brown cookies will still be soft
  3. Cool 2 minutes on sheets Working quickly with spatula remove cookies to wire rack cool completely
  4. Sprinkle if desired with confectioners sugar
  5. Makes about 2 12 dozen cookies
