Codfish Cakes

Ingredients

  • 3 lb boneless codfish
  • 1 12 Tbsp shortening
  • 1 medium sized onion diced
  • 12 tsp hot pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic diced
  • 12 c water
  • 2 c flour
  • 3 eggs

Directions

  1. Soak codfish overnight
  2. Drain off water
  3. Run through meat grinder or chop in food processor with onion and garlic
  4. When done mix together with eggs flour and other ingredients
  5. Drop by spoon into shortening or any cooking oil
  6. Fry until golden brown
