Coney Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 lb hamburger
- 1 small No 2 can tomato juice
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 Tbsp catsup
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 medium onions
- 12 c vinegar
- 1 small can tomato puree
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp barbecue sauce
- pinch of salt
- garlic optional
Directions
- Fry together
- Drain hamburger and onions
- Mix together in a large kettle sugar vinegar juice tomato puree chili powder pepper catsup sauce Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt
- Add hamburger and onion to this mix
- Salt to taste
- Simmer over low heat for 1 hour
- Cool run it through a meat grinder
- One pint makes 8 or 9 Coneys
