Corn Bread Taco Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 12 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 1 18 oz pkg taco seasoning
  • 12 c water
  • 1 can whole kernel corn drained
  • 12 c green pepper chopped
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 8 12 oz pkg corn muffin mix
  • 1 28 oz can French fried onions
  • 13 c shredded Cheddar cheese 1 oz

Directions

  1. Brown and strain meat
  2. Stir in next 5 ingredients
  3. Pour into an 8 x 12-inch baking dish
  4. Prepare corn muffin mix according to package directions except add 12 can onions
  5. Spoon around outer edges of casserole
  6. Bake uncovered at 400 for 20 minutes
  7. Top corn bread with Cheddar cheese and remaining onions
  8. Bake for 2 to 3 minutes
