Cornmeal Scrapple
Ingredients
- 1 c cornmeal
- 1 c milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 34 c boiling water
- 12 to 1 pork sausage cooked drained and crumbled
Directions
- In a saucepan combine the cornmeal milk sugar and salt gradually stir in water
- Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly Reduce heat cook covered 10 minutes longer or until very thick stirring occasionally
- Remove from heat and stir in sausage
- Pour into buttered loaf pan
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate To serve cut 13-inch slices dip in flour on both sides
- Fry in skillet in melted butter over medium heat until browned on both sides
- Serve warm with syrup
