Cottage Herb Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 14 c warm water
- 2 12 c flour
- 14 c sugar
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 c cold margarine
- 1 c cottage cheese
- 1 egg beaten
- melted butter or margarine
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water
- In large bowl combine flour sugar oregano and salt
- Mix well
- Cut in cold margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- Blend in cheese egg and yeast Turn out on well floured surface
- Knead
- Shape into ball
- Place in well-greased bowl
- Brush top with melted margarine cover Let rise until doubled
- Punch down
- Shape as desired
- Brush with melted margarine cover
- Let rise again until nearly doubled
- Bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes
- Serve warm
- Yield 1 12 to 2 dozen
