Cottage Herb Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg active dry yeast
  • 14 c warm water
  • 2 12 c flour
  • 14 c sugar
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 c cold margarine
  • 1 c cottage cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • melted butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water
  2. In large bowl combine flour sugar oregano and salt
  3. Mix well
  4. Cut in cold margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  5. Blend in cheese egg and yeast Turn out on well floured surface
  6. Knead
  7. Shape into ball
  8. Place in well-greased bowl
  9. Brush top with melted margarine cover Let rise until doubled
  10. Punch down
  11. Shape as desired
  12. Brush with melted margarine cover
  13. Let rise again until nearly doubled
  14. Bake at 375 for 12 to 15 minutes
  15. Serve warm
  16. Yield 1 12 to 2 dozen
