Ingredients

  • 1 34 c flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 14 c butter
  • 34 c sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 34 c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Combine flour baking soda and salt in mixing bowl
  2. Combine shortening sugar egg milk and vanilla
  3. Add to flour mixture Beat until smooth
  4. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch square pan
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350
  6. Cut into 3-inch squares and serve warm with hot vanilla sauce
