Country Bread Pudding With Custard Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp butter melted
  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 4 c whole milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c raisins

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 325
  2. Pour melted butter into approximately an 8-cup baking pan and refrigerate
  3. Place the bread sliced into a large bowl and pour the milk over them tossing to let the bread absorb most of the milk
  4. Tear sliced bread into pieces
