Crab-Filled Phyllo Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz can crabmeat drained flaked and cartilage removed
  • 14 c crushed shredded wheat wafers 6 crackers
  • 12 tsp onion powder
  • 12 c melted butter
  • 12 c shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 2 oz can mushroom stems and pieces drained and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp snipped parsley
  • dash of pepper
  • 6 sheets frozen phyllo dough 16 x 13-inch thawed

Directions

  1. For filling
  2. In a medium mixing bowl combine crab cheese mushrooms crushed wafers parsley onion powder and pepper Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of the butter
  3. Toss to mix
  4. Set aside Unfold phyllo spread one of the sheets flat
  5. Brush with butter Top with another sheet
  6. Cover remaining phyllo sheets with a damp towel or Saran Wrap while working
  7. Cut stack of buttered phyllo lengthwise into fourths and crosswise into fifths
  8. You will have 20 3 14-inch squares
