Crab-Filled Phyllo Bites
Ingredients
- 1 6 oz can crabmeat drained flaked and cartilage removed
- 14 c crushed shredded wheat wafers 6 crackers
- 12 tsp onion powder
- 12 c melted butter
- 12 c shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 2 oz can mushroom stems and pieces drained and chopped
- 2 Tbsp snipped parsley
- dash of pepper
- 6 sheets frozen phyllo dough 16 x 13-inch thawed
Directions
- For filling
- In a medium mixing bowl combine crab cheese mushrooms crushed wafers parsley onion powder and pepper Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of the butter
- Toss to mix
- Set aside Unfold phyllo spread one of the sheets flat
- Brush with butter Top with another sheet
- Cover remaining phyllo sheets with a damp towel or Saran Wrap while working
- Cut stack of buttered phyllo lengthwise into fourths and crosswise into fifths
- You will have 20 3 14-inch squares
