Cream Of Vegetable Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 34 c butter or margarine
  • 12 c all-purpose flour
  • 4 c chicken broth
  • 2 c milk
  • 2 c light cream
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp pepper
  • 14 tsp garlic powder
  • 5 c chopped vegetables broccoli carrots and cauliflower

Directions

  1. In a large stock pot saute onion in butter
  2. Add flour stir until bubbly
  3. Gradually add chicken broth
  4. Cook and stir until thickened about 5 minutes
  5. Stir in milk cream basil salt pepper and garlic powder
  6. Add vegetables cook gently on low heat until heated through
  7. Yields 8 to 10 servings about 3 quarts
