Cream Of Vegetable Soup
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 34 c butter or margarine
- 12 c all-purpose flour
- 4 c chicken broth
- 2 c milk
- 2 c light cream
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 12 tsp salt
- 12 tsp pepper
- 14 tsp garlic powder
- 5 c chopped vegetables broccoli carrots and cauliflower
Directions
- In a large stock pot saute onion in butter
- Add flour stir until bubbly
- Gradually add chicken broth
- Cook and stir until thickened about 5 minutes
- Stir in milk cream basil salt pepper and garlic powder
- Add vegetables cook gently on low heat until heated through
- Yields 8 to 10 servings about 3 quarts
