Creamed Green Beans With OnionsMakes 8 Servings

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 1 c Borden half and half
  • 1 20 oz pkg frozen small whole onions thawed and very well drained
  • 2 9 oz pkg frozen French-style green beans thawed and very well drained
  • 12 slices Borden American process cheese food
  • 12 c chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In large saucepan melt butter
  3. Stir in flour mustard salt and pepper
  4. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture is bubbly
  5. Gradually stir in half and half
  6. Stir in vegetables
  7. In 8-inch square baking dish place 13 vegetable mixture and top with 4 slices cheese
  8. Repeat 2 times ending with cheese then nuts
  9. Bake uncovered 35 minutes or until hot Refrigerate leftovers
