Creamy Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 c water
  • 1 stick oleo or butter
  • 1 c flour
  • 4 eggs

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400
  2. Heat water in saucepan with oleo to a rolling boil in the pan
  3. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball that leaves pan after adding the flour about 1 minute
  4. Remove from heat
  5. Beat in eggs thoroughly one at a time
  6. Beat until smooth and mixture breaks off when spoon is raised
  7. Drop dough by scant 14 cupfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet
  8. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until puffed and golden brown
  9. Allow to cool slowly away from drafts
  10. Cut off tops with sharp knife
  11. Scoop out any strands of soft dough
  12. Fill with desired flavor of pudding
  13. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired
  14. Makes 12 large or 40 small
