Crisp Coated Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 lb frying chicken cut in serving pieces
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 12 tsp salt
  • 18 tsp pepper

Directions

  1. Dip pieces of chicken in buttermilk and drain
  2. Combine flour salt and pepper in paper bag
  3. Place one piece of chicken at a time in bag and shake well to coat evenly with flour
  4. Fry chicken in deep hot shortening until chicken is brown and crisp 10 to 12 minutes
