Crisp Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 c brown sugar
- 12 c shortening
- 14 c butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 12 tsp soda
- 14 tsp salt
- 3 c quick-cooking rolled oats
Directions
- In saucepan mix brown sugar shortening and butter
- Cook and stir over low heat until butter and shortening melt
- Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients mixing well
- Drop from teaspoon 3 inches apart on well-greased cookie sheet
- Bake in moderate oven at 375 about 7 minutes
- Cool slightly and remove from pan
- Makes 4 dozen
