Ingredients

  • 3 c sugar
  • 1 c shortening
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c plain flour
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon extract

Directions

  1. Mix sugar and shortening until light and creamy
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time
  3. Add milk and flour alternately
  4. Stir in flavorings
  5. Start baking in cold oven at 275 in tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes
