DadS Birthday Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c oleo or shortening
• 2 c sugar
• 3 c flour
• 4 eggs separated
• 14 tsp salt
• 3 tsp baking powder
• 1 c milk
• 12 tsp each vanilla and almond

Directions

1. Cream shortening or oleo and sugar until fluffy
2. Add egg yolks one at a time
3. Beat thoroughly
4. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture beating until smooth
5. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
6. Bake in moderate oven 350 for 25 minutes in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan or two 9-inch round layer pans
