Date Nut Roll

Ingredients
- 3 c sugar
- 1 c milk
- 1 pkg pitted dates chopped
- 2 c pecans chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp butter
Directions
- Mix sugar milk and butter and cook until it forms a firm ball in cold water
- Fold in the dates and bring to a boil
- Remove from heat and beat thoroughly
- Add vanilla and nuts and stir Pour onto a damp tea towel and roll lengthwise
- Let harden
- Cut in 14 inch slices
- Store in tightly covered container
