DieterS Delite Angel Food Cake
Ingredients
- 12 large eggs separated
- 14 c cake flour sifted
- 1 34 c sugar
- 12 tsp salt
- 12 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 tsp almond extract
Directions
- Pour egg whites into a large bowl warm to room temperature about 1 hour
- Measure sifted flour with 34 cup sugar re-sift Preheat oven to 375
- Beat at medium speed egg whites with salt and tartar until stiff peaks form
- At high speed beat in 1 cup sugar 14 cup at a time beating well after each addition Sprinkle 14 cup flour mixture over whites
- Fold in 15 strokes with a wire whisk until all flour disappears
- Continue until all flour mixture is gone
- Gently push in ungreased 10-inch tube pan Remove all air bubbles with a knife through batter
- Smooth top of cake
